Frequently asked questions
How much bigger does it get?
Roughly double each side, so about four times the pixels. That's the range where an upscaler genuinely adds detail rather than inventing it.
Will it fix a very blurry photo?
Partly. Upscaling reconstructs plausible detail from what's there — it cannot recover something the camera never captured. A slightly soft image improves a lot; a badly out-of-focus one stays out of focus, just larger.
Why is there a size limit on what I upload?
Enlarging is the point, so shrinking your file first would defeat it. Instead the input is capped, which keeps the job inside the time limit rather than timing out on you.
Is my image uploaded?
Yes. Upscaling needs a model that cannot run in your browser, so the image goes to a processing provider for that one job and is not stored by us afterwards. What the provider keeps is covered by their own privacy policy. The resizer, cropper and converter all run locally if you'd rather nothing left your device.
Is it free?
A few runs a day with no account. After that it costs credits, because each run costs us real money.
