Icon generator: draw it, then export every size
An icon generator in two halves. Describe an icon and AI draws it; then turn that picture, or the logo you already have, into every size a website or app store asks for, in one zip.
Press Enter and we’ll carry your idea straight into the studio after sign-up.
Start from an icon type
Export every icon size
favicon.ico, PNG favicons, Apple touch icon, manifest icons and both store icons.
Paste into your site's <head>

What's in the zip, and where each file goes
| File | Size | For |
|---|---|---|
| favicon.ico | 16×16, 32×32, 48×48 | Browser tabs and bookmarks, every browser |
| favicon-16x16.png | 16×16 | Browser tab |
| favicon-32x32.png | 32×32 | Browser tab, high-DPI |
| apple-touch-icon.png | 180×180 | iPhone and iPad home screen |
| icon-192.png | 192×192 | Web app manifest (Android, Chrome) |
| icon-512.png | 512×512 | Web app manifest, splash screens |
| google-play-icon.png | 512×512 | Google Play store listing |
| app-store-icon.png | 1024×1024 | Apple App Store |
Each size is the platform's own number. Apple's web app guide names apple-touch-icon.png and 180×180 for iPhone. web.dev's manifest guide asks for at least a 192 and a 512 pixel icon before Chrome treats a site as installable. And Google Play's icon specification is 512×512, a full square, under 1024 kB, because Play masks the corners itself.
That last point is why the two store icons ignore the shape you pick. Both stores round icons for you; send one already rounded and it gets rounded twice, with a sliver of background showing in each corner. The website icons do take your shape, since a browser tab shows the file exactly as it is.
How to make every icon size from one picture
- Step 1
Get a picture
Draw one with the AI prompt box above, or use a logo you already have. Square, at least 512 pixels, works best.
- Step 2
Add it to the exporter
Drop it in. It's drawn into every icon size on your device; nothing is uploaded.
- Step 3
Set shape, background and padding
Rounded, square or circle for the website icons, a background colour or transparency, and space round the edges.
- Step 4
Download the zip
favicon.ico, PNG favicons, the Apple touch icon, both manifest icons, both store icons, a site.webmanifest and a README with the HTML to paste.
Drawing an icon with AI that survives 16 pixels
An icon is a picture people see at the size of a fingernail, so the prompt has to ask for less than you think: one object, one bold shape, a plain background, no words. Every starter above ends that way. A scene with a sunset and a mountain and a tent makes a lovely image and an unreadable favicon.
Pick the style before the subject. The Flat style asks for clean vector shapes and crisp edges, which is what most app and web icons are; 3D asks for a soft studio render, the glossy look of a lot of newer app icons. Then try the same prompt on two or three models and keep the one that's still clear when you squint. If the result has a background you don't want, the background remover cuts it to a transparent PNG before you export it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make an icon for free?
If you have a picture or logo, the exporter on this page is free: add it and download every icon size as a zip, made on your device. Drawing a new icon with AI costs from $0.10 an image, depending on the model, with no subscription required.
How do I generate an app icon?
Start from one square picture at least 1024 pixels wide. The Apple App Store wants a 1024×1024 icon with no transparency, and Google Play wants 512×512. Both round the corners themselves, so upload a full square. The zip from this page has both, sized and filled.
Can I make an icon from an image?
Yes, that's what the exporter does. Add a photo, a logo or a drawing, set the padding so it isn't touching the edges, and download. Photos rarely read well at 16 pixels, so for a favicon, crop to one recognisable shape first with the image cropper.
What size should a favicon be?
Ship a favicon.ico holding 16, 32, 48 pixel versions, plus 32 and 16 pixel PNGs. Add a 180×180 apple-touch-icon.png for iPhone home screens, and 192 and 512 pixel icons in a web app manifest for Android and Chrome. The zip has all of them and the HTML to link them.
Can AI generate icons from text?
Yes. Describe one object and a style, ask for a plain background and no text, and keep it simple: an icon is seen at the size of a fingernail. On Leaxor, Recraft v4 (listed in our picker for illustration & vector) is a good first pick for flat icons, and you can try the same prompt on forty-seven models.
Should an app icon have text in it?
Usually not. Letters turn to noise at small sizes, and Google Play's rules ban icon text or badges that suggest a ranking, a price or a Play category. A single letter as a logo mark can work; a word rarely does.
Why does my App Store icon have a white background?
Because Apple won't accept a transparent App Store icon. If you choose a transparent background, the website icons keep it and the two store icons get white instead. Pick a background colour to use your own.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. The exporter draws every size, writes the .ico and builds the zip in your browser. The picture never leaves your device. Only the AI prompt box sends anything, and only when you use it to draw a new icon.
