Frequently asked questions
Does cropping lose quality?
No. Cropping removes pixels from the edges and leaves the rest untouched, so what stays is exactly what was there. The result downloads as a PNG so nothing is re-compressed on the way out.
How do I crop to exactly 16:9?
Pick the 16:9 preset. The region snaps to the largest 16:9 area of your image and stays 16:9 while you drag, so you can move it around without breaking the ratio.
Can I type exact pixel values?
Yes. The four boxes under the preview take exact numbers for left, top, width and height. That is also how you crop without a mouse.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It is read and cropped by your own browser. You can watch the network tab while you use it and see that nothing is sent.
What formats can I crop?
JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. HEIC files from an iPhone need converting first, which is a separate tool.
