One difference worth knowing. Most of the image tools here never send your file anywhere. This one has to — it needs a model that cannot run in a browser. Your photo goes to a processing provider, is used for that one job, and is not stored by us afterwards — no copy, and no record of the image. What fal keeps is covered by their own privacy policy. Does it still look like me?
That's the instruction — keep the actual features and likeness, change the lighting, background and attire. A result that looks like somebody else is a failure, not a style choice. Use a clear, front-facing photo for the best odds.
What photo works best?
A well-lit, front-facing shot where your face isn't obscured. Sunglasses, heavy shadow and extreme angles all make it harder.
How long does it take?
Around 15–20 seconds.
Is my photo uploaded?
Yes — and this one is a photo of your face, so it's worth being plain about. It goes to a processing provider for that single job and is not stored by us afterwards: no copy is kept, and nothing about the image itself is recorded — the only thing logged is a count of runs against a salted, same-day hash of your IP address, which is how the free allowance is counted. What the provider keeps is covered by their own privacy policy.
Is this the same as generating a person from scratch?
No. This transforms a photo you upload. If you want an image made from a written description instead, that's the image generator.
