Quick verdict

Check which Magnific you mean first. If it is magnific.com, the renamed Freepik platform, it generates images and the Freepik comparison is the page you want. If it is the upscaler, these are not substitutes and treating them as such will lead you wrong. The upscaler is an enhancer, and for a client file, an archive image, a photograph, or anything heading to print it is doing work that no generator does. Keep it for those. Leaxor is upstream of the problem: forty-seven models generating natively at 1344x768 and 768x1344, priced at $0.10 to $0.20 an image, so a thumbnail arrives at the size it needed to be. If you are upscaling because a generation came out too small, that is the cheaper fix.

Choose Leaxor if you want…

  • Generates at 1344x768 and 768x1344 natively, so a thumbnail never needs enlarging
  • Forty-seven models chosen per job rather than one enhancement pass over a fixed input
  • Pay per output at $0.10 to $0.20, with no monthly plan required and credits that never expire
  • Re-rolling a bad image costs less than rescuing one — three Flux 2 Pro attempts is thirty cents
  • Composition, subject and framing are still changeable, because nothing is baked in yet
  • Finished narrated 9:16 video from the same balance, not just stills

Choose Magnific AI if…

  • Works on images you did not generate — client files, archives, photographs
  • Invents genuine fine detail on the way up, which no generator's native output matches at 4x
  • Creativity controls let you choose between faithful enlargement and heavy reinterpretation
  • The right answer for print, where screen-resolution output is not enough
  • A specialist tool doing one job better than general tools do it

Leaxor vs Magnific AI — FAQ

Is Magnific AI an image generator?+

Both answers are now correct, which is the confusing part. The Magnific upscaler enhances images you already have and cannot create one from a prompt. Magnific the platform, which is what Freepik renamed itself in April 2026, does generate images, video, audio and 3D. Check which product you are looking at before comparing prices.

What is a cheaper Magnific AI alternative?+

That depends on why you are upscaling. If the source is a client file or a photograph, you need an enhancer and the honest answer is another enhancer. If you are upscaling because a generator gave you something too small, generating again at the right size is cheaper: Leaxor outputs 1344x768 and 768x1344 natively at $0.10 to $0.20 an image.

Do YouTube thumbnails need upscaling?+

Usually not. Thumbnails display small, often on a phone, so detail invented at four times the resolution is not visible where anyone looks at it. The exception is working from an old asset that only exists at a few hundred pixels wide, which is a genuine upscaling job.

Can Leaxor upscale an image I already have?+

No. It generates at fixed creator ratios and that is the whole scope on the image side. If your workflow depends on enlarging existing files, keep an enhancer for that and use a generator for the images you are making from scratch. Most channels end up running both.

How much does a Leaxor image cost?+

Between $0.10 and $0.30 depending on the model. Flux 2 Pro, Seedream 4.5 and 37 other models are 1 credit; Nano Banana Pro, Ideogram v3 and Hunyuan Image 3 are 2 credits; GPT Image 2.5, GPT Image 2 and 3 other models are 3 credits, at $0.10 per credit. Minimum purchase is $5 for 50 credits and they never expire.

How fast does Leaxor generate?+

Measured on 20 August 2026 across six models with two runs each: Recraft v4 at a median 8.9 seconds, Seedream 4.5 at 12.7, Flux 2 Pro at 12.8, HiDream at 16.4, Ideogram v3 at 24.1 and Nano Banana Pro at 25.6. Those are wall-clock times around the generation call, logged to a results file kept with the images.
