Magnific does not generate images. It takes one you already have and enlarges it, inventing detail on the way up, which is a genuinely different job from the one this site does. So if you landed here looking for a like-for-like swap, there is not one, and the useful version of this page is about which problem you actually have. Disclosure while I am here: Leaxor is mine. The question worth asking is why the image needed enlarging. Sometimes the answer is that it is an old asset, or a client sent a small file, or you are printing something. What Magnific AI Is Actually Built For
Magnific is an enhancer. You give it an image, it gives you back a larger one with detail that was not there before, and the controls let you dial how much creative licence it takes while doing so. What a channel actually needs
Thumbnails at 1344 by 768 and vertical stills at 768 by 1344. Those are the sizes YouTube and Shorts actually use, and every model in my picker generates at them natively. For that specific workload, upscaling is a step that exists only if something upstream went wrong.
The other thing a channel needs is throughput. Publishing twice a week means roughly a hundred images a year that have to be good enough and no better, arriving without a two-step process behind each one. Any workflow with a rescue stage in it gets abandoned around week six, not because the stage is hard but because it is one more thing between having an idea and publishing it.
And it needs the ability to change its mind. Half the images I discard get discarded because the composition was wrong, the subject was facing the wrong way, or the whole thing read as generic. No amount of added detail fixes any of those.

When Magnific AI Is the Right Choice
- The source image is fixed. A client file, an archive asset, a photograph. You cannot regenerate a thing that was never generated, and this is the whole category where upscaling is the only answer.
- You are going to print. Screen resolution and print resolution are different problems, and mine is only the first one.
- The detail is the deliverable. Product shots, texture work, anything viewed close and large.
- The image is already right. Composition good, subject correct, just too small. That is the ideal Magnific input and it is a common situation.
None of those get better by switching to a generator. If your work sits in that list, this comparison is not for you and the honest recommendation is to stop reading.
There is also a hybrid case I use myself, and it is probably the most common honest answer. Generate the image at native size, publish it, and keep an enhancer for the occasional asset that needs to live somewhere bigger than a thumbnail. Channel art on a desktop banner is one of those. A frame you want to sell as a print is another. Those come up a few times a year rather than a few times a week, which is exactly the shape of thing you want on a small plan rather than in your daily workflow.
What I would push back on is upscaling by default. It is easy to end up with a two-stage pipeline where every image gets enlarged because the first stage produces something slightly soft, and at that point the fix is upstream: a different model, a different prompt, or a different ratio. Adding detail to an image that was not good enough is more expensive than making a better one, and it takes longer.

Magnific is an enhancer, and for a client file, an archive image, a photograph, or anything heading to print it is doing work that no generator does. Keep it for those.
