What are the YouTube Shorts monetisation requirements?
Two routes into the Partner Programme, and Shorts creators usually take the second.
The long-form route is 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 valid public watch hours in 12 months. The Shorts route is 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million valid public Shorts views in 90 days.
Both also require living in an eligible country, having no active Community Guidelines strikes, and two-step verification on the account.
What actually gets applications rejected is rarely the thresholds — it's the reused-content review. Channels built on unedited clips, compilations without commentary, or text-over-stock-footage get declined even when they clear the numbers.
These figures change. Check YouTube's own Partner Programme page before making decisions based on them.
