What Is Perchance AI? Free Image Generation, Explained

Short version: Perchance generates AI images for free, with no account, no watermark and no credit counter. It runs Stable Diffusion variants in your browser and pays for itself with ad banners. How Perchance works

Perchance started as a platform for random generators — name pickers, plot seeds, dice tables, the kind of thing people build for tabletop games. AI image generation got bolted onto that community, which explains an interface that looks nothing like a funded product.

Resolution first. Around 768×1024 is the standard cap, against 1024×1024 for Midjourney and 2048×2048 for Firefly. For a blog inline image that is fine. For a YouTube thumbnail viewed at any size, or anything printed, you are upscaling first and hoping the upscaler is kind.

Then licensing, which is the one that actually matters.

Perchance does not publish explicit commercial usage terms. That is not the same as prohibiting commercial use, and it is not the same as permitting it. It is a gap. Paid generators state the licence plainly because their customers need to know; a free hobbyist tool has less reason to. If you are making images for a client, a product, or a monetised channel, read their terms page yourself and get comfortable before shipping. If you are making a wallpaper, none of this applies to you.

Text rendering, mostly. SD-family models are weak at putting legible words inside an image, and thumbnails, ads and social graphics usually need words. Tools built around typography handle that; Perchance does not.

Consistency is the other wall. Getting the same character to appear across a set of images takes reference conditioning and controls that a stripped-back free page does not offer. One-off images are its strength and series work is not.
