Best AI Video Models 2026, Ranked by the Job

The best AI video models of 2026, ranked by job: ten picks from 23 models, each backed by a real render, its measured wait and its price per clip. No guesswork.

Short answer: the best AI video model depends on the job. Kling v3 is the best all-rounder for Shorts and Reels, Veo 3.1 is the one for talking heads, Seedance 2.5 wins long single takes, and LTX-2.5 is by far the fastest. Below are ten picks from the 23 models I run, each with the real render behind it.

Quick flag: Leaxor is mine, and it runs every model here. Prices are what it charges; the waits are my own timed runs.

Most "best AI video model" lists rank on vibes or on someone else's benchmark. I'd rather show my working. Every pick below comes with the prompt I gave it, how long it took, and where it went off script. Where I haven't run a model, I say so instead of ranking it.

What "best" means here

I judged each model on four things, in this order, because that's the order they cost me time and money on a real channel:

  1. Did it do what I wrote? A gorgeous clip of the wrong thing is a reroll.
  2. How long did I wait? Iterating on a shot means waiting many times over.
  3. What does a clip cost? Per clip, at the length I'd actually use.
  4. Does it fit the feed? Vertical and square, sound if the job needs it, enough length that a Short isn't six stitched clips.

Resolution and benchmark scores aren't on the list. Every model here looks sharp enough on a phone screen, which is where these clips get watched.

LTX-2.5 Pro
Kling O3 Pro
Seedance 1.0 Pro
Three of the renders behind the ranking: LTX-2.5 Pro's dolly-in (25 seconds to render), Kling O3 Pro's fox, and the Seedance 1.0 Pro watch that wouldn't hold still.

1. Kling v3: best all-rounder

I asked for a morning espresso "in three shots" and got exactly three shots, cut where I'd have cut them, in five seconds of video. That one render is why Kling v3 is my default. It runs up to 15 seconds a clip, does vertical, wide and square, and costs $0.60 for 5 seconds.

2. Veo 3.1: best for a presenter who talks

My talking-head test on Veo 3.1 Fast came back with the line spoken and the sound attached. It's the model I'd pick for dialogue. The catch is length and price: Veo stops at 8 seconds, has no square option, and sound roughly doubles what you pay. The first attempt also dropped on a network error at 94 seconds and had to be rerun.

3. Seedance 2.5: best long take

Up to 30 seconds in one pass, with sound at no extra cost. My one-take alley came back as a single unbroken move, though the cyclist I wrote in never appeared. It's also the slowest model I run: 236 seconds one day, 281 the next.

4. LTX-2.5 Fast: fastest turnaround

A 6-second animated chart in 29 seconds, then 32 on a rerun. When you're iterating, that's the difference between ten tries in five minutes and ten tries in twenty. It built the bars, the line and the donut chart in the order I asked. It put the donut on top of the bars instead of below them, which is the sort of thing you fix with a second prompt, not a new model.

5. LTX-2.5 Pro: best camera moves for the money

"Slow deliberate dolly in toward the lens." It did exactly that, from the archive shelves right up to the camera on the bench, and it took 25 seconds. From $0.90 for 6 s. If the shot is about the camera move, start here.

6. Kling O3 Pro: best character animation

A cartoon fox had to wake, yawn, stretch and blink at a snowy window. It did all four, in order. Character beats are the first thing I check on any model, and this one didn't skip any. $0.70 for 5 seconds.

7. Seedance 1.0 Pro: best cheap drafts

From $0.10 for 3 s, it's the cheapest way I know to test a framing. Don't trust it with instructions, though. I asked for a "locked-off" macro of a watch where only the light moves. The watch turned. It also came back two-tone gold when I'd written stainless.

8. Grok Imagine 1.5: best for absurd social clips

A corgi DJing in mirrored sunglasses, confetti in the low sun: it nailed the joke in 56 seconds. It ignored "out of focus" on the crowd behind, which is sharp, so the dog fights for attention. Fine for a meme, a problem for a product shot.

9. Wan 2.5: best landscapes and aerials

A drone rise up an Icelandic ridge, waterfall and moss included. The "single shaft of low sun" came out as a straight vertical beam that looks more like a searchlight than weather. Worth knowing: my first attempt died after 11 seconds on a network error; the rerun took 127.

10. Hailuo 2.3 Pro: food close-ups, slowly

Noodles lifting from broth, steam, warm side light: the noodles and the steam look right. It dropped the halved egg and the chashu I asked for, and it took 226 seconds.

Models I haven't run yet

These are on the shelf and priced, but I haven't put them through a job, so they don't get a rank: Veo 3.1 Lite (from $0.20), PixVerse V6 (from $0.20), Flux 3 Draft (from $0.40), MiniMax H3 Max (from $0.30), Wan 3.0 (from $0.30), Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 (from $0.20), MiniMax H3 (from $0.30), Wan 3.0 Prime (from $0.50), Flux 3 (from $1.10). The full list with per-clip prices is in what AI video costs per clip, and the newest arrivals are covered in 9 new AI video models.

How I'd use this list

Draft on something cheap or fast, then render the keeper on the model that suits the shot. LTX-2.5 Fast or Seedance 1.0 Pro to find the framing, Kling v3 for the clip that ships, Veo 3.1 Fast only when someone speaks. If the question is just Kling against Veo, my Kling vs Veo vs Seedance comparison goes deeper on those three.

All 23 sit in one menu in the AI video generator, and any of them can start from a photo through image to video. If you want a still to animate first, the AI image generator is on the same account. For background on how these models work, Wikipedia's text-to-video model entry is a decent primer, and Google's Veo page is the lab's own account of what Veo is for.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI video model right now?+

There isn't one winner; there's a best model per job. For everyday Shorts work it's Kling v3 (from $0.40 for 3 s). For a presenter who speaks, Veo 3.1. For one long take, Seedance 2.5, which renders up to 30 seconds in a pass. For speed, LTX-2.5 Fast, which came back in about 30 seconds in my runs.

Which AI video model is fastest?+

In my runs, the LTX models: LTX-2.5 Pro returned a 6-second clip in 25 seconds and LTX-2.5 Fast in 29 and 32 seconds. Kling v3 took around two minutes and Seedance 2.5 around four. Queues vary by the day, so treat these as a feel, not a promise.

What's the cheapest good AI video model?+

Seedance 1.0 Pro, from $0.10 for 3 s at 480p. It's a draft model: fine for testing a framing, and in my run it ignored "locked-off" and spun the watch it was meant to hold still. Kling v3 at $0.60 for 5 seconds is the cheapest model I'd publish from without hesitation.

Is Kling or Veo better?+

Kling v3 for most clips: longer, cheaper, and it does square. Veo 3.1 when someone needs to talk on camera. The full breakdown, with prices and waits, is in my Kling vs Veo vs Seedance comparison.

Which AI video models make sound?+

thirteen of the 23 on Leaxor can add a native sound track, including Veo 3.1, Kling v3, Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0. Prices differ a lot: Seedance charges nothing extra for sound, Veo 3.1 roughly doubles.

How did you test these AI video models?+

Each model got one prompt written for the job I'd use it for, rendered through the same code path the product uses, on 28 August and 13 September 2026. I timed every run and kept the files. It isn't a same-prompt benchmark, and I've said where a model didn't follow its prompt.
