Eight concept art briefs, run on Flux 2 Pro

One plate for each job a concept artist is actually handed. All eight ran on Flux 2 Pro, the default and one of the cheapest models, on 24 October 2026. Each took 15 to 19 seconds. No paint-over, no upscale, no grade: these are the files the model returned. Tap any plate to load its prompt into the box above.

What the model got wrong

The turnaround. The prompt asked for front, side and back views of one robot, and the sheet looks right at a glance: three views, one row, clean white. Look closer and the front and back views roll on wheels while the side view runs on treads. A model sheet exists so every artist downstream draws the same thing, and this one would send them in two directions.

That's the honest line on AI concept art. It's fast and cheap at the exploration stage, when you want forty wrong answers to find one right one. It is not yet a substitute for the final, consistent design sheet. Use it to find the design, then paint over it or redraw it.

Concept art on a budget

Concept work is volume work, so the per-plate price decides how much you explore. Here's what common jobs cost on Flux 2 Pro, and on Nano Banana Pro for the plates that make the final deck. Credits are $0.10 each and never expire.

What concept art jobs cost on Flux 2 Pro and on Nano Banana Pro
JobPlatesFlux 2 ProNano Banana Pro
One mood frame for a pitch1$0.10$0.20
An exploration round: 20 thumbnails of one location20$2.00$4.00
A pitch pack: 6 locations × 10 variations60$6.00$12.00
A character pass: 4 characters × 25 variations100$10.00$20.00

The working pattern: explore on Flux 2 Pro, then re-run only the plates that make the deck on Nano Banana Pro. If you need flat, editorial illustration rather than painterly concept art, the AI art generator shows which models lead on illustration and vector work, at the same per-picture prices.

How to prompt concept art

Four habits, each visible in the plates above.

  1. Open with the job, not the subject

"Environment concept art of…", "Character turnaround sheet of…", "Prop concept art of…". The job word sets framing, background and level of finish before the model reads anything else. Every prompt on this page starts that way.

  2. Give scale a reference

"Tiny figures for scale" made the canyon city read as a city. "The size of a house" made the stag a creature instead of a deer. Without a size cue, models default to a portrait-sized subject.

  3. Ask for a plain background on design sheets

Characters, props and costumes are meant to be read, not admired. "Plain grey background" or "isolated on a soft grey background" stops the model painting a scene around a design you need to see clearly.

  4. Name light and one colour note on keyframes

"Cold blue light with one amber suit lamp" is a colour script in eight words. Keyframes sell mood, and mood is mostly light.

What the job words mean is standard in the trade; the Wikipedia entry on concept art is a fair primer. More full prompts live in the image prompt library.

From keyframe to moving shot

Leaxor makes video on the same account, so a keyframe doesn't have to stay still. Send the plate to image to video, describe the camera move, and it comes back as a clip on any of 23 video models, Kling and Veo among them, from $0.10. A pitch with one moving shot in it lands differently from a deck of stills.

AI concept art — frequently asked questions

What is an AI concept art generator?

A text-to-image tool used for concept art: the early visual development of a film, game or book, where artists explore environments, characters, creatures and props before anything is built. You describe the brief in a sentence, and the model paints a plate you can iterate on. On Leaxor you pick from 47 image models and pay per plate.

Is there a free AI concept art generator?

Not here. Leaxor has no free tier; a plate on Flux 2 Pro costs 1 credit ($0.10), credits cost $0.10 each, the minimum top-up is 50 credits, and they never expire. That makes a 20-variation exploration round $2.00, with no subscription required.

Is Flux good for concept art?

Flux 2 Pro made every plate on this page, from an environment to a costume sheet, in 15 to 19 seconds each. It holds composition and lighting well and sits at the shelf's floor price, 1 credit a plate, which matters when concept work means dozens of variations. Its weak spot here was consistency across views on the turnaround sheet; for a final hero plate, run the winning prompt again on Nano Banana Pro.

What's the cheapest AI illustration tool for concept work?

Per plate, Flux 2 Pro is at the shelf's floor price, $0.10. A 60-plate pitch pack costs $6.00 on it and $12.00 on Nano Banana Pro, the top-quality model. Draft on the cheap model and re-render only the plates that make the deck.

Can AI make character turnaround sheets?

It can lay out front, side and back views on one sheet, as the farming robot above shows. What it can't promise is that the three views describe the same machine: our side view swapped the wheels for treads. Use AI turnarounds to find a design, then draw or paint over the final sheet.

Can I use AI concept art commercially?

Read the terms of the tool that made it. Separately, the US Copyright Office's January 2025 report concludes that purely AI-generated material is not protected by copyright, and that prompts alone don't make you the author. Your own paint-overs, edits and arrangement can be protected.
