What Is Revid.ai? Pricing, Credits, and the Clip Fees

Revid.ai turns scripts and links into short-form video. What the plans cost, how its credits burn, and the per-clip surcharges buried under the headline price.

Short version: Revid.ai makes faceless short-form video from a script or a link, bills in credits, and starts around $39/month with no permanent free tier. The published price is not the whole price. Premium stock clips carry per-clip fees on top, and the better voices burn credits faster than the ones you will test with.

None of that makes it a bad tool. It does mean the plan you pick on day one is sized for a workflow you will probably abandon by week three.

What Revid.ai actually does

You give it an input, and the input can be looser than most competitors accept. A finished script works. So does a URL, a product page, or a one-line idea you have not thought through.

From there it drafts the script if you did not bring one, picks visuals (stock footage, generated images, or a mix), generates an AI voiceover, times animated captions to the narration, and exports vertical. The output is the modern short-form template: fast cuts, big word-by-word captions, a synthetic voice reading over B-roll.

It does that template well. If you have scrolled TikTok in the last year you have watched hundreds of videos in this exact shape, and a decent chunk of them came out of tools like this one.

Revid.ai pricing

PlanMonthlyCreditsRough video count
Hobby~$39Entry poolSolo creator volume
Growth~$99~2,000~10–13 at 150–200 each
Ultra~$199~12,000~60–80 at 150–200 each

The credit-to-video conversion is the row that matters and the row nobody advertises. At roughly 150 to 200 credits for a three-minute narrated vertical video, the $99 Growth tier is somewhere around ten to thirteen finished videos a month.

Ten videos for $99 is about $7.60 to $9.90 each. That is not outrageous for short-form, but it is a long way from the impression "2,000 credits" gives you when you are reading the pricing table quickly.

Promotions muddy this further. Growth has been offered at the Hobby price for limited periods, which is good news if you catch it and a reason to distrust any number you read in a review, mine included. The live Revid pricing page is the only source worth trusting on the day you buy.

Where the extra money goes

Two surcharges sit outside the credit system:

  • Premium stock clips — roughly $5 to $15 per clip from partner libraries, billed on top of credits.
  • Ultra-realistic voices and voice cloning — deducted per character, at a higher rate than standard text-to-speech.

Use three premium clips in one video and you have spent more on footage than the video's credits cost. For anyone making product or travel content, where the free-tier stock tends to look free, this is where the budget quietly goes.

The voice one is sneakier, because a long script punishes you twice: more characters at a higher per-character rate. Everyone tests on the standard voice, decides the tool sounds fine, then switches to the good voice the moment they publish something real.

Revid's own FAQ is the place to confirm how your specific settings draw down credits, because the ratio moves with resolution and voice model rather than sitting fixed per video.

Neither is hidden exactly. Both are downstream of the pricing table in a way that makes the first month cost more than the plan you chose.

Revid.ai versus the auto-posters

Revid gives you a file and a library. AutoShorts gives you a scheduler that publishes without you.

That is a real fork in the road. If you want to review every video before it goes out, Revid's model is the better fit and the credit system lets you make five videos one week and none the next. If what you actually want is to stop thinking about the channel entirely, Revid will not do that and AutoShorts.ai will.

On raw cost per finished video, both land in similar territory once you account for how much you really publish. The pricing comparison lays the field out side by side, and the per-second cost breakdown covers what the underlying generation actually costs before anyone's margin.

Who should use it

Marketers turning blog posts and landing pages into social clips. That URL-to-video path is the thing Revid does that most generators do not, and it is genuinely useful if you have a content library to mine.

Creators who publish in bursts, since credits do not force a weekly cadence.

Less good for anyone who needs a consistent character or a visual identity across a series. Stock-footage montage looks like stock-footage montage, and no amount of caption styling changes that.

Quick flag: Leaxor is mine. It takes the opposite bet on visuals, generating consistent illustrated characters across every scene rather than pulling clips from a library, and it bills pay-as-you-go: 15, 30 or 90 credits per video at $0.10 a credit, no subscription, no expiry, no per-clip surcharge on top. If stock footage is the right look for your content, that is a real advantage Revid has and I do not compete with it. The generator is there if the character approach fits better.

Verdict

Worth it if you are converting written content into social video and stock footage suits the subject.

Be careful if your videos need premium clips or a cloned voice. Price a realistic month with both switched on before you commit, because the headline tier assumes neither.

Frequently asked questions

What is Revid.ai?+

Revid.ai is a short-form video generator aimed at creators and marketers who want faceless clips without editing them. You feed it a script, a URL, or a rough idea, and it assembles stock footage or generated visuals, adds an AI voiceover, burns in animated captions, and exports a vertical video for TikTok, Reels, or Shorts.

How much does Revid.ai cost?+

Revid runs three credit-based tiers: Hobby at around $39/month, Growth at around $99/month with roughly 2,000 credits, and Ultra at around $199/month with roughly 12,000 credits. Promotional pricing appears often enough that the Growth tier has been sold at the Hobby price, so check the live page rather than a review.

Is Revid.ai free?+

There is no permanent free plan. New users can try the product before subscribing, but there is no ongoing free allowance the way there is with Zebracat or PixVerse. Paid entry starts at the Hobby tier, so budget for a subscription from month one rather than expecting to run on a free quota.

How do Revid.ai credits work?+

Credits are consumed by what the render actually costs rather than by the video. Standard-definition output burns fewer credits than a 4K export, AI voiceover is deducted per character, and external API calls draw down separately. A three-minute vertical video with narration, captions and stock footage lands somewhere around 150 to 200 credits.

Does Revid.ai have hidden costs?+

Two worth knowing. Premium stock clips from partner libraries carry their own per-clip fees, reported in the region of $5 to $15 each, on top of your credits. And ultra-realistic voice models plus voice cloning consume credits faster than the standard text-to-speech voices, so a plan sized on standard narration will not stretch as far once you switch.

Is Revid.ai worth it?+

It is worth it if you want short-form output fast and your content works with stock footage and captions. It is poor value if your credit maths depends on premium clips or cloned voices, because both route around the headline price. Run one realistic video through it before committing to an annual anything.
